Day 3 and 4 of Build

Well, I didn't post anything on day 3 so I'm posting both days together. Progression has really come a long way. The exterior of the house is completely up. We are very happy with the process thus far.  Here are some pictures from day 3 and 4, in no special order.  It rained before they but the roof on, so there is a little water inside and the floor are damp.

Day 4 - Since House showed up

Progress in the key. Today was another successful day. The weather was great. I was surprised to see that "Amish carpenters" was actually building our home. I have only heard good things about their work. Hopefully, our home will be another successful story. Here are some pictures from today

Getting Ready !!

Today, April 8, 2015 guess what finally showed up. Our home on a flat bed truck. We were very excited  to see the house arrive. Our PM stated"if  weather permits the structure will be up by Thursday April 16, 2015.

Water Proofing

Our home is moving along. Today was another productive day for the builder. They install the waterproofing membrane, some of the downspouts and backfilled some areas of the home. Maybe tomorrow we will see something new.

My wife and I went to select our flooring for our new home. We were very surprised at the choices and upgrade option available. Basically, everything is a upgrade. For example the basic carpet comes with a 5 lb. carpet pad. This is unacceptable. However, they do offer an 8 lb. pad and memory foam which are all upgrade. The basic carpet itself, in my opinion should not be offered at all. It’s the basic lower level carpet. The bathroom tile is really reasonable. Based on my experience with tiling in my other homes, this appears to be a good valve.

Construction Starts

Well, the first day of construction is finally here. They dug the hole for the foundation on March 31, 2015. After being delayed a week. My week and I have been going by, just about everyday. We have heard that you have to be seen and involved with the build of your home.
